My advice to the Democratic Party

According to the most public opinion polls’ results and 18-25 years old youths’ participation in the politics, it’s clear that they get tired of politics. Politics is something they don’t interest because it seems very different and boring world to them to get involved. In other words, they believe that they live without any political impact.

Therefore Democratic Party has to talk to this generation directly, instead of just telling them or showing them some slogan on the paper, in my opinion. But what exactly they should tell? How to deliver the message?

Due to the 2008 presidential election research, 18-25 years old youths, who are named Millennium generation, voted for Barack Obama. So I think now Obama should meet college students and give a good speech about “Who is change man?” This speech argument would be one of the factors that can influence to the college students. He has to tell them “Future of the America is your future. Therefore to solve your problem, you have to be the change man. That change man is the responsible citizen who participates for his or her community, school, college and county. So we can make a great change together and I’ll ask all the college students to become change man as a president. We have to show that not only the White House can change the U.S, but also every family can change the U.S.” I think Obama needs to talk this argument to the youths.

The reason why telling this to the millennium generation is because they are the most active people who are searching for who they really are, and what they want to do; but they can’t really find the answer because of the present political situation, process and discussions. Most of them need a superman who can change their life. So I think president Obama is right role for that superman.

However we should be careful. Should president give the same speech to the all college students or is it better to change some aspects based on college students’ diversity? In other words, it might be better idea to talk different change men to the different groups such as for African Americans, Hispanics, Asians and the others. Democratic Party also can organize “Change man movement.” Since president Obama first starts to talk about change man idea, youths will define who would be the change men themselves. I think it will also help youths to come, participate and vote for election if Democratic Party can organize this movement. Otherwise it’s not sure that young people will vote for election even though they support Obama.
