I think specific frame that Senator Clair McCaskill will talk about the president Obama’s plan, which could be good plan to support American economy and life, and she should talk about this plan as a supporter to the voters of Missouri. Since number of voters for the Democrats and Republicans are quite similar in the state, she has to concern on voters defined “switchers” and “droppers”.
To get droppers’ attention and make them active it would be the good idea to tell to the voters that she thinks congress should pass Obama plan as soon as possible so that people can stay with the jobs and economy can get better; therefore there should be hope from voters to the Democratic party. So voters, especially droppers have to use the chance to vote for her in order to support representative democracy.
To the “switchers” she has to pay more attention because their impact to the election result is more than the others. In my opinion, the biggest threat of Senator McCaskill would be the Obama’s plan and how to make “switchers” believe that she could make difference. Since Republicans are majority in the congress, it’s almost sounds impossible to pass the plan.
So most “switchers” would think that Senator McCaskill could’t make difference even though she wins. To change their mind she could directly state that she will work for this plan to pass by taking most Americans vote, or support. I think this will help to take many “switchers” in her side.
Best opportunity to her election communication will be the image that she is with the president. Since most “switchers” think that Obama is trying, they will also see if the democratic senator is supporting him or not. I think trying of Obama is giving some results time by time. For instance, he did what the republican president who concerns more about Security of the U.S couldn’t do (Osama Bin Laden was killed when Obama was president). But now to refresh or rebuild the U.S economy will be the issue that depends on time.
How fast passes the Obama plan, economy will grow by then. Therefore he needs support from senators at this time. So senator McCaskill could say that she can be the one who supports him and together they can make difference.
The reason is “switchers” are generally supporting Obama’s plan and even though it needs time, they are still waiting, according to the poll. Finally, I don’t think most “switchers” would agree if Obama’s plan, which they were waiting for couldn’t pass because of the republicans.
